Oaken Holt House is a Victorian mansion that has been sympathetically restored to it's former glory with many of the original features retained. The roomy oak paneled hallway has an interesting Indian carved fireplace which forms the foreground to the magnificent oak staircase. The large, elegant lounge and dining room both boast oval ceiling paintings with the dining room featuring yet another intricately carved Indian fireplace. A light and summery garden room serves as another pleasant lounge in which the residents are able to meet over coffee or tea or simply to enjoy the tranquility of the view across the countryside.   Whilst a great deal of care was invested into ensuring that the finer details of the architecture, period and original finish were preserved, all the attributes required for modern day living and many adaptations necessary for the elderly have been discreetly incorporated into this gracious house, the result is a luxurious but homely ambiance with the provision of a high standard of care.

The accommodation ranges from modest single rooms, larger doubles and suites to self contained apartments, all but one are en - suite and some of the larger rooms have kitchenettes. Emergency call bells, television and telephone points are fitted throughout. The differing curtains and carpets ensure further individuality of the accommodation.

It is policy to encourage all Residents to make their rooms their own by bringing favourite pieces of furniture and pictures etc. with them. In the event that they do not wish to do so Oaken Holt will be more than happy to ensure that the accommodation is fully furnished. Part of the main aims and objectives throughout Oaken Holt is to actively promote personal choice and wherever possible all services are individually tailored to each Resident's differing needs and wishes.

Care staff are on duty twenty four hours per day and are specially trained in the provision of discreet and respectful support, assistance and the promotion of independence and  emotional well being.

In the event that a situation occurs in later years when long term Nursing care is required there is the comfort of knowing that this can be provided from within the more recently built extension to the main house, obviating the stress of leaving behind not only familiar surroundings but friends that have been made by both Residents and staff alike.
