The Coach House

Following a number of years of experience of running
the Oaken Holt Care Complex it became increasingly obvious that a percentage of
people realise that conventional sheltered accommodation does not totally
release them from the strains of the everyday chores of life and yet they are
far from requiring the more concentrated support of a Residential Home.
The Coach House was built in recognition of the desire for a best of both worlds option. It incorporates twelve suites of above average size, each consisting of bedroom / living area with kitchenette and fitted wardrobes. The en - suite bathroom, which again is larger than average, enables the use of a wheelchair and hydraulic bath seat if necessary. Each suite is carpeted and curtained and fitted with emergency call bells, television and private telephone points. As with all accommodation choices at Oaken Holt, Residents are free to furnish their suites with their personal pieces of furniture or alternatively we will be happy to do so for them.
All suites have been built with a small extra area for seating, they each have French windows which lead onto the patio area. This, in turn, has it's own small planting area for those Residents who wish to cultivate a mini garden. With twenty three acres, the sky's the limit for the more adventurous and energetic gardener!
The main lounge which commands excellent views across the lawns and beautiful countryside beyond is, in keeping with Oaken Holt House, elegant and gracious. The luxurious and classic soft furnishings provide a perfect foil for the large marble fireplace, original oil paintings and crystal chandelier.
The dining room which is large and airy, features a most attractive Victorian style conservatory with doors leading onto the main patio, gardens and summer house. there is also an exceptional view directly into Wytham Woods which affords a wonderful opportunity for lovers of wildlife to observe, undetected, the deer, foxes and birds etc. The patio is planted with a variety of shrubs and is illuminated at night by Victorian type street lamps which cast a relaxing glow to the gardens to be enjoyed after dinner
Other facilities within the Coach House include a fully fitted kitchen, for those Residents who still enjoy cooking and a hairdressing salon. There is the provision of a washing machine and Residents are of course welcome to use all the other facilities within the Complex. Emergency call bells and the latest fire safety precautions are fitted throughout.
Care, cleaning, all meals ( with the exception of the a la Carte menu ) and non alcoholic beverages, laundry and the usual household expenses are included in the weekly fee.
The Coach House has been built and finished to a very high standard. The luxurious furnishings and the general ambiance has resulted in a delightful environment for those who wish to free themselves of the everyday stresses of life whilst retaining the freedom to enjoy a relaxed and independent lifestyle.
