Objectives

It is the objective of Oaken Holt to provide care to all residents to a standard which includes fundamental principals of good care practice which may be witnessed and evaluated through the practice, conduct, and control of quality care in the home.

Oaken Holt Care wishes to ensure that all residents shall live in a clean and safe environment and be treated with respect and sensitivity to their individual needs and abilities. Staff will be responsive to the individual needs of the residents and will provide the appropriate degree of care in order to try to ensure the highest possible quality of life.

To meet the residents' needs Oaken Holt's care service is designed to meet the following objectives:

To provide care to the residents within the appropriate care environment. This shall be fully assessed prior to taking up residency by either the Residential or Nursing Manager and shall be regularly reviewed. In the case of Residents in the Coach House or Oaken Holt House, they and their next of kin or advocates will be fully informed of any need to transfer to a higher level of care, either in Oaken Holt House or the nursing wing.

To deliver a service of high quality to, hopefully sustain and where possible improve a resident's overall quality of life. The service is monitored using a quality assurance monitoring system.

The service is delivered discreetly, flexibly, attentively and in a non discriminatory fashion.

The Residents right to make informed choices, take risks, independence, privacy and dignity are respected at all times.

The rights to confidentiality of all Residents, staff and the Company are respected at all times.

The resident's needs and values are respected in matters of religion, culture, race or ethnic origin, sexuality and sexual orientation, political affiliation, parenthood and disabilities or impairments.

To ensure that care is delivered in accordance with contracts of care and the Care Standards Act 2000 and the associated standards and regulations.

To manage and implement a formal programme of staff planning, selection, recruitment, training and personal development in order to enable resident care needs to be met.

To ensure all residents receive written information on Oaken Holt's procedure for handling complaints, comments and compliments and how to use it.
